Whether you have a family, tend to haul a bunch of people, or just need the room, a three-row SUV can be a good thing to have, and if you are already looking to get into a new three-row SUV, then you should consider what Toyota has to offer. The Highlander is a wonderful three-row option and you can try a new 2021 Toyota Highlander in Santa Maria, CA at Toyota of Santa Maria. The Highlander gives you a lot of trim levels to choose from in 2021. In fact, there are ten trim levels in total. It may be confusing at first glance though, but we can clear that up for you. For starters, you have the L, LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, and the top Platinum. That’s only six trim levels. Where are the other four? They are actually hybrid variants, namely the Hybrid LE, Hybrid XLE, Hybrid Limited, and the Hybrid Platinum.
The Highlander has three rows, and in the case of this SUV, that means seating for up to eight people. We say up to eight people because starting with the XLE and up, you have the option of the second-row captain’s chairs which may reduce your seating capacity down to seven, but it will increase the luxury for your second-row passenger immensely.
Under the hood, the Highlander gives you either a 3.5-liter V6 or the hybrid drivetrain with a 2.5-liter gas engine and electric motor combo. The former gives you up to 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque and the former gives you a net horsepower rating of 243.
Safety is going to be important for you and anyone that comes along for the ride, and luckily, the Highlander includes a ton of safety features. Not only do you get radar cruise control, lane departure warning, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and more, but on the LE and above you also get blind-spot monitoring. Speaking of standard features, you also get Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Alexa.
